The Story Of The Animals; Author : sjHunt

The otter had no choice.

He was held down by a traitor

He ratted and crowed

on his girlfriend, but only

after she sang like a canary,

all of it, lies, lies, lies.

The leader had lizard eyes,

cold, with only one thing in mind.

How to get to the meat of the matter

Where was that prize?

The otter had squirreled

the treasure away

but that would not stop the others

from looking for it.

The mole sniffed around and

wormed his way into the den

of vampire bats, who

were ready to taste the blood

of the little white rabbit.

The mole watched, still unseen,

as the rabbit began to scream

"I am tired of this cat and mouse game!"

The wolf who'd chased the rabbit

into the cave finally grew bored

and went away.

The mole saw this and ran out of the cave,

followed by the rabbit, it was his lucky day.

But back to the hunt, where was the otter?

Did he really have the treasure?

"It's raining frogs!" the beaver

told the prairie dog.

"Yes that is queer,

but it's better than the fish

that came down last year."

Beaver responded

"I guess it will bring the vultures again,

you should probably go back to your den.

I'm headed back to my creeks damm.

Prairie Dog looked at the horizon.

"Yes, you're right Beaver; we'll search another day,

once the eagles have chased away

those disgusting vultures, eating

on those sad, dead frogs' decay."

As prairie dog looked back down

he saw he was talking to himself.

Beaver had already scampered away.

Prairie dog jumped straight up in the air.

A voice behind him gave him a scare!

"Oh my, oh my! What are you doing here?"

We've been looking for you everywhere!"

"I came to visit you, my dear little friend!"

"Please tell me what you've been up to."

"Oh, Otter, we've been looking for you!

Beaver just left, he misses you too.

Is it true? Have you found the treasure?"

Otter and prairie dog went a long way back,

ever since Otter saved Prairie dog

from a deadly snake attack.

Otter acted quickly, he called

for Mongoose to hurry their way.

Mongoose fought tooth and nail

finally grabbing the snake by the tail.

In the end, Mongoose saved the day.

"Thanks for the dinner, Otter!

I've searched for something to eat for awhile."

Prairie Dog realized Otter's gift.

Otter's efforts to save him also helped another.

Over time, he'd seen him do this again and again.

Prairie dog loved him more and more ever since.

Prairie dog latched onto Otter's hind quarter.

"Please hug me Otter, or pinch me at least!"

Otter smiled down at little prairie dog.

He bent down and hoisted him onto his shoulder.

The frogs had ceased to fall.

But water was what was needed the most.

Staring at the lowering sun,

they were joined together.

"Prairie Dog?" Otter softly whispered,

to his little best friend,

perched next to his head.

"Yes, Otter? I'm here."

He moved closer up Otter's shoulder

until he was nestled on Otter head , between hia ears.

The vantage point from this post

was one that Prairie Dog love the most.

No words were spoken as they watched

the sun slip into the horizon.

"I will stay with you tonight, Prairie Dog,

tomorrow I must go. But I will not

worry about you,

I'll tell you everything

you'll need to know."

"For now you must get your rest.

Go on now, and settle into your den."

Prairie dog protested, "But Otter,

I want to know! What is going on?

Can you tell me, did you find the treasure?

What is the treasure, anyway,

no one seems to know..."

"In due time, friend, I will tell you it all.

But now you must sleep and dream good dreams.

I'll be right here, on top of your mound."

Prairie dog agreed, Otter knew what was best.

Soon, he was snoring in his underground nest.

As Otter stretched out on top of the mound,

a soft breeze soothed him, as he settled down.

His mind was in a light, drowsy place.

He knew for now, at least, he was safe.

As He looked up, gazing out at the stars,

he waited for the golden Orb to appear.

Otter closed his eyes and began to silently speak.

"Please come to me, whatever you are, whoever you are

You are the only safe source guiding me."

Otter felt a now familiar golden light

When he opened his eyes the Orb

was floating above him, so bright.

The golden Orb felt Otter's conflict.

"Otter, what is it that you need from me?

Why do you feel so torn inside?"

Otter was always taken aback when

the Orb described his feelings inside.

"Well, yes, I am worried. I don't know

why you chose me. How am I to take this chance,

when so many are looking to kill me?"

"You already know, Otter, it is your destiny.

Why is it that now, you have doubt in me?"

Otter was ashamed, but still worried.

The golden Orb spoke, and Otter listened intently.

"Yes, my dear Otter, you are in for a battle,

the outcome is not sure.

But, if you depend on me with all your heart,

give up your shell and truly love Me,

then you will feel my strength that will

allow you to accomplish anything."

Otter was embarrassed that he needed reminding.

"Golden Spirit, I am sorry, my fear got the best of me."

"It's alright Otter, it will happen again.

Just do what you did tonight, close your

eyes and summon me. Now, sleep a peaceful sleep.

When you wake up, you will have the knowledge and energy.

To move forward towards your destiny."

Otter was already asleep when the golden orb,

the golden Spirit, reached down and poured

Itself into Otter, until Otter was also gleaming.

It wasn't everyday, Spirit gave away the

treasure to help Otter triumph.

But the golden Spirit already knew.

Otter was one who deserved it.

As the Sun rose, Otter's eyes remained closed.

But Prairie Dog was up and alert.

He would remain the look out

until Otter began to rouse

out of peaceful trance.

"Otter, you look different! You are more

beautiful than you were before!

How can that be?"

A loving smile formed across Otter's face.

"Come here, little one, I have something

to give you. Touch me and you will see.

"Ok Otter but I must tell you

I am feeling afraid. I don't want to

change into something I don't know.

"It's ok Prairie Dog, I will give you

a drop of golden essence

to keep you aware and safe."

"I'm sorry for my moment of doubt, Otter,"

he said, as he scampered into Otter's arms.

"Prairie Dog, we must make some plans,

that is, if you have the courage, the desire

to help me through to the very end.

Prairie Dog was a worrisome fellow,

being so small and all.

But that didn't matter now.

He would do anything to make Otter proud.

He knew Otter would soon depart,

his caused him to worry again.

Otter, you too, must take refuge

from this dried up land.

Where will you hurry back to?"

"No worries, little Prairie Dog!

See that line of trees over there?

I will dash right into the forest!

I'll go back to the stream which

Beaver and I comfortably share"

Prairie Dog had never travelled that far.

his place was on the prairie.

He started to shake with the thought

of entering the dark forest.

"But, but, but," he stammered.

"What about the cougars and bears?

How will you escape the fox's lair?

I must tell you, Otter, I am scared!"

"No need to be!" Otter declared.

"My little friend, I'm bigger than you

I am an Otter through and through."

"I'll make it back home and once I'm there,

I will sincerely plan for our battle ahead.

Please stay here, don't go anywhere.

You are safe here and your task is important.

You must not tell anything about the treasure."

I hold this to you as I leave from here.

I'll be back, so do not despair.

Whatever you do, try to stay underground.

Lie still and sleep, don't make a sound.

You are protected now, the snakes

will slither right on by,

as long you will by me abide.

Go back to sleep and hold the treasure tight.

I'll be back after you've missed me for four nights.

Fear is frightful, and I know you are scared.

You'll be safe, I promise, as you dream in your den.

"I love you Otter, I'll do what I'm told."

He didn't wait for a reply as he went down his hole.

Otter was amazed. He'd never heard the word 'love' before,

but it made him smile and he felt the word's power.

Otter turned and headed off on his own,

to the forest entry, brave and alone.

Otter reached the edge of the trees.

He became wary, as he watched the breeze

bend the high grass just underneath

the entrance into the forest.

The grass moved and gave way

to what seemed a menacing sway.

Could it be Momma Gator,

coming his way?

Otter sniffed the air for the smell of danger.

Then he laughed a rolled playfully over.

It was Rocky Raccoon, his friend from long gone!

"Rocky, Rocky, my dear comrade!

It's so good to see you! How did you

make out of the forest this far?"

Rocky hugged Otter and leaned into his ear.

"Otter, don't you know? I followed you here.

When you left to the prairie, I stayed here and worried.

So I made my way as far as I could,

to where we are standing now.

"I waited and waited, and I worried still.

But I know you, Otter, I knew you'd be back!

You are our leader, you can't give up that!

We all depend on you for a reason!

You get us through every season.

But now, these darker days have come.

I must say I'm glad you've made it back home.

Come share the fish I've caught today.

You can catch me up, and sleep until day....

Daddy of Mine; Author: sjHunt

Even when I try to sense reality

I also have a sense of insanity

I don’t know how to recognize the day

Without some aberration in my brain.

I can’t stand being straight

with no drug or liquid to change my state.

Yet here I am unhappy yet quite tanked.

Why is everyone else’s reality

Such an unreal nightmare for me?

I don’t know how not to dwell upon death

Though I want to hold that last single breath.

My body fights back with an unwelcomed gasp.

It’s not that easy to carry out my own death.

No matter what my mind may want

My body struggles to continue on.

Just because my mind wants to leave

It’s not the same for the rest of me

My body rules me. It will not free me

I obey its requests commonly

I am a slave to it, it rules me

I need to escape from this torture and be free

Daddy, daddy do you recognize me?

Of course not, you constantly mold me.

Daddy thank you for all your gifts

Too bad they were the cause of my death

You are the death of me

You haunt me still in my sleep

Love me as a lover would, Escargot, the finest wines

Under the table, you lovingly stroke my thigh

Daddy you are not my lover, this is what you want

You are cruel and powerful, isn’t that what you taught?

I’m the best student, let’s not get caught

I’ll love you daddy at all costs

You killed me though. I am the loss.

The Smile, Author: Angel Brookins

THEN
I feel your back stiffen, a frown creases your brow. A pang of sympathy tugs my heart.
Something inside of your dreams has made you unhappy. Don't worry, baby, mama's here.
I hum your favorite lullaby. I smell the sweet shampoo scent in your fuzzy hair. My eyes mist over with tears that express an emotion too deep for words.
I pull you close to me and share my breath with you, your head warm on my breast.
Our hearts beat together in a rhythm. I look down at your beautiful face, I feel your muscles relax.
You trust me. You need me. I never thought anyone so tiny could be such a huge part of my life.
Did any mother ever love their child more than I love you right now?
I love you with every molecule of my essence. I wonder if you feel me pouring it out over you, like liquid sunlight. I kiss your brow, smoothing out the wrinkles on your forehead.
You open your eyes, and we look at each other deeply. I can't wait to get to know you, to know the person that you will become.
A faint smile creases your perfect mouth.
Is it a smile, or is it gas? The experts disagree, some say one, some the other.
I prefer to think of it as an expression of pure contentment.
NOW
The windows shake with the gale of your angst.
You flood the floor of the house with the downpour of your tears.
It's not fair, life is not fair. Everyone else gets to do it.
No matter what IT is you should be able to do it too. You rail in futility against the guidance that you feel is restricting your freedoms.
Did any mother ever love their child more than I love you right now?
I pull you into my arms; I hum your favorite lullaby.
I stroke your hair, I share my breath with you.
I tell you that you can do whatever you want when you get your own home, but I hope you keep the small voice of my reasoning and comfort in the back of your head always.
I let you know that just like when you were an infant; I want nothing more to keep you safe and happy. Don't worry baby, mama's here.
I pour my love out over you. I feel it reflected back at me by the love i see in your eyes.
You trust me. You love me. And now that I know you, now that I see who you are and who you are becoming, I love you even more. If my love for you grows any bigger, it may explode.
I can't tell you that, though. Not yet. you'll brush it off as embarrassing. But someday, when you hold your own baby to your heart and share your breath with them, I will give this to you.
We look at each other long and hard. each with a tiny smile in the corners of our mouths.
Is it gas?

Hope and Despair Author: Rebecca Lovatt

There lies an island
The Island of Hope and Despair
Sitting there, a well-known land
Peeking through the foggy air

Within its clear sandy shores
Lay the things we cherish and fear the most
In the jungle trees lay the remnants of wars
Our loves returned as spirits along the coast

On the island of Hope and Despair
Things return that we once thought lost
We are thankful for what's left there
But often, what was found is not worth the cost

The people, the memories, the things
That we have long since missed
Are found, wrapped in angels wings
Returned to us, surely a wonderful bliss

ARCADIA; Author Dantesfire

Uncovering secrets is a lesson to us all

Maybe there are things that should remain lost to this world

Would they do more harm than good?

After all is said and done

What is this need to understand

Forcing the do or die?

Am I ready to die?

To give my all

I really do not understand

What is this madness we call a world

Where what we desire not need, must be done

In the name of all that is good

Good, such a simple word Good

Is it really so good to die?

Knowing in one's heart what must be done

I am a believer after all

Alone in a voiceless, senseless world

Yet having little or no understanding

But what is this understanding?

To know what should or should not be done

Better I should die

Than live in this chaotic world

For my own good

My salvation is my sanity after all

Be all and end all

Damn, freedom tastes good

The wine of understanding

All surely must drink before they die

Arcadia, my translucent world

My work here is almost done

No, Wait, am I really done?

Am I truly ready to die?

Who deceives my soul by feeling so good?

In the Utopia that is now my world

This can not be the ultimate understanding

Truth wears a mask after all

In a world I failed to understand, between what is good and what is done, I lay down my white flag before you all, to die in unresolved peace

The Peacemaker, Author: wenniepoo

There was a Prince Of Peace at WEbook, everybody knew him as BigDaddyCash.

He gave his heart and soul everyday, to all the projects and it was there, he made...many, many friends.

It was more than that. People gathered in huge crowds, to get next to his closeness. They loved to hear his beautiful tales.

He told them in away, no-one else could. He had wisdom, light years away and he prophesied so much good.

People would stay with him day and night, sharing love and gifts of words. Even at times, when he was extremely exhausted. He never grew tired of his honourable, dutiful world.

He was one of a kind and was a genius, with a creative mind.

He wrote stories of great audacity and his followers, read them; with prosperity.

He brought peace to the earth and he was guided by that divine light of heavenly birth. He was courageous, more like a braveness like the knights of yesterday. He could walk the walk and talk the talk.

There was too many followers to list and I'm sorry, to all the ones, I have missed but BigDaddyCash, The Prince Of Peace, knew all of their love... did exist. There was one young girl, called Susan Hunt. She was truly unique. She called BigDaddyCash "POPS". To her he was a genuine mop, always there when her tears were flared up and wouldn't stop. He just seemed to have the most remark-ablest wisdom, to put her life back on track without the pain in her hop.

One day, BigDaddyCash received a message. That he was to offer his beloved people, to all the WEbook tribes. As what you could call, a signal of guaranteed peace, to stop the war on the entire world.

He had slept on this message for many nights. As he was afraid to confront his followers with this news of fright. On his great depth of thinking, he knew in his genuine heart and gifted soul, this was the only way to go.

He had no choice but to one by one give his beautiful followers to the enemy tribes. It was hard giving his beloved people away, these remarkable Poet's and story-writers of passionate history but it had to be done. It tore him down, with a burden, so heavily placed upon his heart.

BigDaddyCash, The Prince Of Peace for a second had tears in his eyes. It was a tense moment. As it was very rare to see this great man of stature cry. Though it wasn't long, before he got the message loud and clear. Everyone would be definitely alright. The tribes would look after and care for all of them. It was just that his heart and soul would miss them, miss them extremely.

It was true... BigDaddyCash's mission, was peace and God had given his much loved son to mankind. So The Prince Of Peace, wanted to do that as well. He was happy knowing, it was for the good of all humans.

So one by one, he took the time, which is love. To say goodbye to his beautiful followers. He held them in his comforting embrace. Than kissed their foreheads, as he waved goodbye to their great love of braveness.

When all the people of the near by tribes, accepted the Peace gifts. Their hearts and souls automatically changed. With these Great Poets they heard messages of Joyous Peace. The tribe members became Christians and love, enormous love, took the place of fear and hatred. They famously spread their great words of Love. Triumphantly, to all their enemies. Especially to those one's who would listen with their heart's open and in no time at all, they were all friends.

It was Christmas time...and BigDaddyCash, The Prince Of Peace was called by the high order. It came in a daydream...the message said "Go and visit all of your loyal followers". They sent BigDaddyCash a canoe and The Prince Of Peace loaded all his precious cargo. You can imagine it all. BigDaddyCash's priceless gems. There was Lady, Sweetheart, Charley, Bobby, Bear and his little puppy, he named after WenniePoo. All the time BigDaddyCash was hoping they wouldn't panic and jump out. You just never know with dogs, as they love the water and enjoy swimming but no... they all settled in admiringly quiet. As if they had been given special instructions on this pilgrimage journey.

The WEbook tribes had all emerged together as one unity. They put on a splendid feast for The Prince Of Peace. As it was, this good man... that had orchestrated such beautiful love.

When all the neighbouring tribes arrived with some trepidation. They were welcomed with delicious food, warm gifts and carols of great joy and triumph. Even the loyal pets, were given the best bones, the tribesman could rustle up.

A verse was read out loud by BigDaddyCash, The Prince Of Peace; Unto us a child is born, to us a son of peace is given.

By sending all his peace followers, to all the individual tribes. A divine miracle had formed. BigDaddyCash, The Prince Of Peace, was so excited, tall with enthusiasm and over the moon in passion. That he ran up the beach into all his Poet friend's waiting love. He wrapped every ounce of himself around them. The whole night long. It was a mission again, getting them altogether but it was one of great significance. So much joy, peace and hope was seen as they sat huddled in a closeness that brought tears of happiness, to all their eyes. It was a loving embrace of faith. That allowed them, to tell their stories and Poems, on WEbook to eternity.

I NOW FEEL HATE Author: sjhunt

How can I feel so much hate?
For someone I love so much?
Why do I now hate myself,
for not being someone that isn’t me?
How does she control my fear
by a simple sound in her voice?
Her annoyance with me is complete.
I am cast into a chasm of shame.
How do I disappoint her so easily?
When I’m trying so hard to please her?
How can I fix my bad behavior?
How can I break from this tyranny?
How can I mold myself into what she wants?
What does she desire that I don’t provide?
Again my frustration makes me want to die.
I am sick and tired of asking why.

Why am I pacing back and forth?
Why am I’m gritting my teeth?
Why am I trying to keep the word
“YouFuckingBitch” from spitting out of my mouth?
I DON”T CARE ANYMORE
I am standing on the edge of a very steep slope
I am utterly at the end of my rope.
My rope of hope slips through my hands.
I can’t relate, I don’t understand.
She tells me I must let go of the rope.
It’s frayed, like me; I have come to its end.
I am desperate for her to pull me up again
She says my rope of hope is broke.
Then I realize as I fall away
down the cliff to sure unhappiness.
My rope of hope has given way.
I look into her eyes as I tumble down.
From what I see, it’s bad for me
I see the glint, she is holding the knife
She has spliced my rope to humanity.
She was successful.
I now feel hate.
From my gut to my bones,
I tell myself
I will never love again.
(To quote a dear friend and fellow author: I am dangling by a thin string. I am letting go, but holding on)
Out of the mouths of the innocents. Ivy, hang on. We all are......
